More than 600,000 people in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region lost electricity after a Russian attack overnight into Sunday, Nov. 8, according to the Ukrainian energy company DTEK. The company reported the outage in a post on Telegram.

DTEK said key energy facilities in the region were damaged in the overnight attack. Engineers were working to repair the facilities, but the company said repeated attacks were making the work more difficult.

No information had been released about possible injuries in the strike. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on X that conditions were also difficult in the Kharkiv region and that outages were widespread across the country.

Zelensky said 140 residential buildings in the Zhytomyr region had lost heat after a Russian attack. He added that repair work was underway in nearly all affected cities and communities, and thanked energy workers and public utility crews working to restore water, electricity and heating.
